Wave training in Lancelin

Mullaloo Boaties made the most of a carnival-free weekend holding events on both Saturday and Sunday.

24.11.2022 Surf Sports

Mullaloo Boaties made the most of a carnival-free weekend holding events on both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday – Boat Naming Ceremony
The new names for two of our surf boats were revealed on Saturday morning at the Boat Naming Ceremony. Our surf boats have been named “Party” and “Muttley” in recognition of Steve Part and Mark Donnelly. Their continued efforts and contributions have helped make rowing at Mullaloo what it is today. Check out the video for photos of the ceremony as well as some great snapshots looking back across their sweeping careers.
Thanks again for all you’ve done boys, and Congratulations!

Sunday
Wave Training Session – Lancelin.
Still Salty, Little Mermaids, Storm Bringers and Wizards took advantage of beautiful conditions to hit the surf at Lancelin on Sunday morning. Crews practiced staying calm and focused while getting out through the surf, catching waves, and performing “trail and aft” manoeuvres – all of which will come in handy for the next carnival, Team Navy Round 3 in Secret Harbour.
The session ended with a beach swim, made memorable by the presence of several dolphins surfing in close proximity.
Thank you to Stu, Duncan, Party and Isaac for your informative coaching and keeping us on a straight path. Bring on the Secret Harbour waves next Sunday!

Awesome photos from the day!
