Mullaloo SLSC has an amazing team of experienced and knowledgeable trainers that offer hands-on, practical training that is flexible, engaging and enjoyable.
In conjunction with SLSWA (RTO 51104), we at Mullaloo have an ongoing Auspice arrangement that allows us to offer our services to you at a discount price. All of our courses are nationally recognised.
Mullaloo SLSC is equipped with state-of-the-art training rooms or, alternatively, offers external training at your office/campus location, for maximum convenience. All courses can be adjusted to work with your workplace needs.

The following nationally accredited courses are available
Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation – HLTAID009
This course covers techniques for administering CPR to adults, children, and infants, and is based on the standards and policies developed by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
Course Content
- Legal Issues
- Infection Control
- Recognise an emergency situation
- Assessing the casualty and recognising the need for CPR
- Emergency action principles DRSABCD
- Plan an appropriate first aid response
- Adult, child, and infant CPR techniques
- One and two person CPR techniques
- How to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Assessment
This course is assessed through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency in the workplace. Candidates will be required to complete activities that may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstration and performing scenarios.
All assessment tasks are completed on the day of the course.
To complete the practical components of this course, all candidates must be able to demonstrate CPR on the floor.
Accreditation
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a nationally recognsied training statement of attainment for the HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Validity
This course statement of attainment is valid for one (1) year from the date of the course. It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council that candidates update their CPR skills every 12 months.
Provide basic emergency life support – HLTAID010
This course provides candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to manage emergency first aid situations and deliver competent emergency care until the arrival of professional medical support.
Course Content
- Legal Issues and infection control
- The principles of first aid and its applications
- Recognition and management of emergency situations, shock
- DRSABCD action plan
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillation, vomiting, regurgitation, recovery and reassurance
- Choking – full and partial obstruction
- Anaphylaxis – signs, symptoms and triggers and using adrenaline auto injectors, allergic reaction
- Asthma – signs, symptoms and triggers, different types of bronchodilators
- Non-life threatening and life-threatening bleeding
- Shock
- Cardiac conditions, including chest pain
- Stroke
- Incident reporting and review

This course provides candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to manage emergency first aid situations and deliver competent emergency care until the arrival of professional medical support.

Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy – HLTAID015
This course covers techniques for administering CPR to adults, children, and infants with the use of oxygen therapy and is based on the standards and policies developed by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
Course Content
- Legal Issues
- Assess the casualty and develop a management plan
- Check resuscitation equipment
- Maintain an airway by: Using suction & using oropharyngeal airways (OP airways)
- Resuscitate a casualty using oxygen
- Use oxygen to provide therapy
- Recover and restore oxygen equipment
- Check defibrillation equipment
- Attach and operate a defibrillator
- Recover and restore defibrillation equipment
