Hi Everyone

I hope all is well

This Sunday

A couple of important events will take place at the beach this Sunday

The U6’s start their surf club. The current forecast is looking good to welcome our youngest active members to the beach. I understand 70+  U6 Nippers will hit the beach this weekend. I am really looking forward to seeing how they go.

We also have the APM Accessible Beaches Event being held on Sunday at Mullaloo. Our Patron, Mayor Albert Jacob will greet guests, including one of Australia’s greatest Para Olympians, Swimmer Ellie Cole. Mullaloo is part of the City’s Accessible Beaches program, with an accessible path to the beach shore, accessible toilet facilities, as well as our Club sponsored  beach access mat, All-Terrain beach wheelchair and Beach Walker.

Look out for Ellie, the Mayor and various media outlets on Sunday. Look on our ‘Socials’ for more details

Carnivals

Last weekend saw more Carnival action. The Summer of Surf series was in town, with a number of big East Coast names, including multiple Aussie champions Georgia Miller and Harriet Brown competing against local WA athletes. Details are available elsewhere in the enews.

I’d just like to specifically acknowledge our R&R teams who took part in the Sunset Series at Scarborough. Coached by Paul Brearley, it’s great to see Mullaloo represented in these events which are focused on the core skills of lifesaving.

This also demonstrates that Mullaloo ‘fights on many fronts’ when it comes to Surf Lifesaving. While some clubs specialise and / or do ‘most’ activities and events, it’s rare to turn up for an event where Mullaloo is not represented in some way, shape or form. That goes from Education and training assessments, Officials at carnivals, water safety, and competitors.

Club Management Structure

Please find in this enews an update on our current Club Management team. It has been great over the last few weeks and months to welcome new faces to this team. However we still have some key roles vacant, or being covered by members who have other roles in the club. One big ticket role that we are keen to fill is the General Manager – Facilities, which is currently being looked after by a fellow Director.

This is an important and active role that involves key aspects of our Club, including the management of the entire Club facility inclusive of the Clubs bar, venue hire and social events. If you have an interest in such a role, please email our .">Facilities GM.
