Our Club is committed to the wellbeing and protection of our members. We aim to provide a safe environment for all our members to deliver and enjoy our many and varied volunteer activities.
Our members can feel safe knowing that we follow Surf Life Saving Western Australia’s Member Screening Policy. The policy outlines how we should screen members for Working with Children Checks (WWC Check).
According to the policy, any member over the age of 18 who is an Active Member or a Member who volunteers at the Club in any capacity and does not have a child, under18 registered as a member, is required to apply for a WWC Check. This exemption is called the parenting exemption. If you are unsure if you need a WWC Check please ask the office or a manager if you need a WWC Check. You can also email or Member Protection Information Officer – MPIO.
The application process is straightforward, with the application forms available at the office. The fee charged, currently $11, is reimbursed to members by the Club upon application.
