Sweep School
Stepping up wave skills
Wow, what a great turnout for our first Sweep School session of this year at a magnificent sunny Mullaloo Beach.
We had 5 boats to cater for the full range of trainees, from youngsters of 17 years old, some “super-newbies” who had never touched a sweep oar, all the way to S2s stepping up their wave skills.
Hearty thanks to fellow trainers Steve Bowler, Rod Bennet, Steve Party, Darren Protzman, Duncan Gemmel, Craig “Frog” Croke and Richard Calnon, with special guest appearances from Wayne “Slobbo” Martin and Peter Waey. The trainees love listening to your experienced suggestions for improvement.
Thanks to Jacqui McGregor for organizing the tea and coffee in the Club rooms. Nice to get warmed up after the boats were packed away.
