Message from The Club President
Busy season ahead...
Busy season ahead...
Hi Everyone
I hope all is well
With the school holidays finishing, this no doubt signals for many of you a return to ‘normal’. I hope you have settled well.
The next three months typically present as some of the busiest on the Surf lifesaving calendar. While many areas and sections of the Club continue services throughout the season and year, others ramp up specifically towards the end of the summer.
Busy part of the Summer season
The next few months see carnivals galore, including State (including the Nipper Qualifier Carnival at Mullaloo in February) and National championships in Perth. Thank you to all those Club officers, managers and volunteers who are putting plans in place for these events and activities. Please help out where you can.
It was great to hear about our young U19 Surfboat crews (Mullaloo Stormbringers – Male – and Misfits – Female) who have been selected to represent Western Australia as members of the Western Suns Surf Boat Interstate Team at the 2023 Australian Surf Rowers League Open – Interstate Championships in Bulli, NSW in February. This is great achievement and the Club wishes you well in the competition
The Country Carnival (at Bunbury this year) has come and gone. Mullaloo had a good turnout at the carnival. Well done to all those who competed. I hope you enjoyed time away and catching up with other members and families as well.
It was also great to see Mullaloo Athletes – young and old(er) – take home medals in state and national Kayak and Open Water Swimming events last weekend. This augurs well for the surf championships in the coming weeks and months.
Renovations
The facelift renovations to the downstairs bathroom are continuing. Please look out for the socials for details of closures etc. Again, everyone understands that this is not a great time for such works, but we want it done – simple. Please ensure you note the closures and restrictions and do not use the facilities within these time. Many thanks.
Ok, have another great week. Sundays Club days are back as normal and firing. Looking forward to seeing you all down at the best beach in Perth, on what promises to be a warm weekend.
Be safe, and enjoy the beach
Regards Andy
