Dandelions WA

MSLSC is excited to be hosting a Stationery Drive on behalf of the Dandelions WA initiative spearheaded by Lucy, a member at the Club.

Message from Lucy:

I have moved into volunteering for a local charity and earlier this year brought the two together on the first day of the season. I held an event to collect much needed school supplies for children who would start the school year with very little school supplies if any. Some parents would even avoid taking them to school because they lacked the supplies and would attract attention from the teachers.

I can honestly say I was blown away – but not surprised at the generosity of our wonderful surf club members. My attached post is of one of our Mullaloo nippers who used her own pocket money to fill two backpacks that she donated. This speaks volumes of just how amazing surf club members are. We are certainly raising community minded young children.

The Club has put together a list of stationery items and allocated  them to the Nipper Age Groups below.  Please note that this is completely voluntary and if you can assist with items for any age group, your donation will be greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to drop them at the Club office in the week or on the weekend at the Club lounges.  We have labelled boxes for the drop collections.

Lunch boxes – U6 Nippers

Water bottles – U7 Nippers

Pencil cases – U8 Nippers

Coloured pencils – U9 Nippers

Crayons ( Twistables) – U10 Nippers

Coloured Markers/Texters – U11 Nippers

Glue stick & highlighters  – U12 & U13

Our collections will run from this weekend, 8 January until 22 January.
