Annual Dinner

The Annual dinner is looming, and tickets will be available soon. I encourage members to get along and celebrate the achievements and contributions of many many club members. Mullaloo SLSC casts its net far and wide regarding activities and services. I say this with all honesty and a little modesty (but not much) that there are few clubs that participate and provide so many services to members and the community.

From patrol (various), competition and training (everything, I cannot think of any event we do not have a crack at), nippers, regular and weekly food and beverage, retail, a gym, the access mat, drones, abalone patrol, community outreach, supporting commercial events (Triathlons etc), and so on. It is massive line up of activities and services.

We often bemoan the lack of volunteers, and this is indeed true, but we are a huge club involved in many things and the sum total of our volunteerism and contribution to members and the community is vast.

So, we need to acknowledge that contribution and the achievements of many within ‘our club. The Awards dinner is just one way of doing that.

The Board of Directors are pleased to subsidize the ticket price at $45 ($30 for youth) and we welcome you to the event.

Aussies

Over the last few days, I have been glued to the live stream of the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships in Maroochydore. We have a good number of athletes competing across a range of events, further highlighting my point earlier about the breadth and depth of our club.

The current conditions for the Opens look challenging but fun (he says from the comfort of an office). As I write it is early with four days still to go in the Opens, but the youth and masters have concluded with some great performances from our members. Congratulations to all and hope you had/have fun.
