Carnivals galore
It was wonderful to see our Little Nippers competing last weekend at Mullaloo in their State Championships. Plenty of effort and enthusiasm and some bling. Well done to all that competed, and thanks to AGM’s, Managers, Set up / pack down crews, Officials, Sausage sizzlers, water safety and so on. It was great to see some many hands on deck.
The Carnivals galore tag applies to this weekend as well. All ages Beach State Championships on Saturday 2nd, State Surf Boat Short Course / Lifesaving (Champion Patrol) / Country Championships on Sunday 4th, and Masters Surf State Championships on Public Holiday, Monday. All Carnivals are at Sorrento.
All the best to our Athletes and (importantly) various members who are assisting through many different roles. Thank you for your contribution to SLSWA and ‘our Club’.
Tough day at the office
It was a tough day on many fronts for those involved in the Rottnest Channel Swim last weekend. It was great to see lots of Mullaloo members entered, but disappointing to see and hear of the cancellation mid race. If you were involved as a swimmer, hopefully the training will stand you in good stead for the rest of the season, and / or you enjoyed the preparations and you will now kick on to another event or bank the fitness for next season. Well done whatever your situation
