Message from Andy…

This Sunday we have the Ted Scott Marathon...

15.12.2022 News

Hi Everyone,

I hope all is well. Hopefully by the time you read this ‘some’ Christmas cheer will be beginning to seep in as school break ups and leave kicks in (for some).

I want to take this early opportunity to wish all our members a Happy Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you all have some time to relax and spend time with family and friends. Thank you for your various contributions across the Club and I hope to see you all around in the new year.

This Sunday we have the Ted Scott Marathon. This traditional Club event of the year always indicates to me the start of the holidays.

Life member Ted Scott created the marathon in 1969 to challenge lifesavers’ endurance skills by having them swim and run from one end of the beach to the other. In recent years the course has been modified, but it still holds onto the traditional distances and skill requirements.

The course is modified for different age groups and nippers.

Whilst a challenge, the focus is participation and FUN. It would be great to see as many members, young and old out there giving it go on Sunday morning. Individual and team options are available.

‘Oh yes’ – and we may have a special guest !!!!

Some end of year reminders

Sunday mornings. Please make sure you clean up after yourselves in the Club rooms after Sunday morning. E.g. Glasses to the bar, sausage sizzle napkins in the bin, place crockery and cutlery on the side table and clear  tables before leaving etc etc. Many thanks.

SWELL – while SWELL will typically take orders up to 6.30pm, this is sometimes brought forward to 6.15 pm. This is especially when they are understaffed and / or during pressure points of the evenings. One pressure point is Sunday evenings when we have a ‘Wind up social’. Please just remember this and get your orders in promptly.

Ok, again, please have a great weekend and a fantastic Christmas (if we don’t see you again before the Festive season).

Regards
Andy
