Greetings from Andy…

A few weeks into the season proper and already plenty happening...

10.11.2022 News

Hi Everyone

I hope all is well with you and yours

Thank you for the last week. A few weeks into the season proper and already plenty is happening with Club points days, competition and carnivals, patrolling, education and training and much more.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know of a couple of pieces of important Club business and news.

Board of Directors Vacancy

Following the 2022 AGM Mullaloo SLSC had a Board of Directors (BoD) Vacancy. As allowed by the Club’s Constitution the existing BoD’s decided to advertise and seek nominations from Club members to fill this Director vacancy.

Nominations were received and at a meeting of the BoD’s on 31/10/22, the nominations were considered and discussed based on the following:

  1. The extent to which the nominee adds to the skill sets of the existing Board (and or duplicates). E.g., supports existing skill sets, fills missing skill sets;
  2. Capability to advise on strategic priorities as defined in the Strategic Plan 2020 to 2024;
  3. Relevant experience(s) and qualifications as related to the context (e.g., Governance, NFP’s, Surf Lifesaving, Mullaloo SLSC Club specific);

Following this process I am happy to announce that Pam Bubrzycki has agreed to take up the offer to join the Mullaloo SLSC Board.

Pam brings great experience in management in non-Government organisations. She has strong finance skills and regulatory experience and is highly experienced in training and education settings. Pam is experienced in surf lifesaving environments including patrol and Master’s participant. She has significant potential to add to the BoD in regard inclusion, health and wellbeing and member protection.

We very much welcome Pam and thank the other nominees for their interest in the position.

Congratulations Sandy Clarke

I would like to acknowledge and congratulate fellow Board member Sandy Clarke for her nomination as Trainer of the Year at last weekend’s annual Surf Life Saving Australia National Awards of Excellence.

As winner of the WA award, Sandy progressed to this prestigious Awards night where Australia’s top surf lifesavers were recognised for their achievements and contributions.

This was a great honour for Sandy and our Club. Thank you Sandy for all your contributions, and whilst not taking out the Award on the evening, we are very proud of such a significant achievement.

Finally for this week, 3 or 4 weeks into the season, please do not forget the basics (I know it’s a broken record) – help and volunteer. Please keep the momentum of the season going and considering how you can add value.

Kind regards Andy
