Thanks to member Carl Mills for putting together the following recap of the weekend’s Senior Carnival.

Super day for most of the Beachies today at the Trigg Senior Carnival today!

1st off a big shout out to Ian Plummer. The Mighty Plum busted his shoulder in the final three of Masters flags and is currently on some decent drugs to sort the pain….Superbad luck for someone who is so dedicated and trains so hard. You are in our thoughts, get better quick mate. BTW Plums, Alistair Cook and I were only half-serious when we suggested you could probably compete in masters sprints with only one arm in action…

Great efforts from the youth girls today in flags and sprints. The girls youth relay didn’t go so well but we will sort that on the training track over the coming weeks.

Top efforts from Alyssa Calnon, 2nd in U17 flags, 4th in open flags, and 3rd in U17 sprints. Her decision to go in open flags showed real confidence, which was great to see.

Mitchell Eady showed his promise again, 3rd in open flags and sprints. He is right up there with 2 Aussies class flaggers in Tom Nolan and Charlie Rigby, no mean feat at all.

Jon Eady is about to outdo his older brother by the looks of things, very close seconds in flags and sprints, he’s coming along really well.

Sam Leeks went well in sprints and flags, my hazy memory tells me 3rd in flags and sprints??? Sam is a real competitor! Straight after relays, he ran down the beach to jump in a surf boat race, hard to fatigue him.

Jon, Alyssa, Sam, and The Giraffe combined to run third in the mixed open relay, nice result.

The Giraffe had an improved carnival, 6th in open flags and 7th in open sprints. I think he is looking more buff, Aaron Gigney you should see him!

Three fun facts from the day:

  1. The Giraffe snuck a flag from the angry dude from North Cott, nice work.
  2. Alistair got DQ’d in masters flags, why I’m not sure….It just fired him up to absolutely blitz the masters sprints field. #machine
  3. Mitch Eady busted his arse today, leading him to do something for the second time on the beach……IYKYK…..Anyone who did hill sprints a couple of years ago will remember. Martyn Pigg certainly will not forget. Hope you are feeling better now King of Flags.

Great day overall, looking forward to the next few weeks….
