Ted Scott Marathon 2021 Wrap

Brodie Lee – 1st Male Youth & Ted Scott Winner
Beth Bamforth – 1st Female Youth
Nathan Linehan & Jeff Vidler – Equal 1st Male Master
Lisa Bergin – 1st Female Master

After a disappointing finish to the 2020 Ted Scott Marathon, youth member Brodie Lee went out hard to prove he could win the
Ted Scott Marathon for 2021. Leading from the get-go to the finish Brodie looked quite content throughout the race, apparently, he was hurting during the runs though. Congratulations and well done to Brodie for taking out the win with a time of 55 minutes.

An event like this doesn’t just happen, it takes many hands to help make the event run smoothly. The Club would like to thank each and everyone that assisted on the day. Course Set up & Pack Up, Registration and Recorders, Water Station Helpers, First Aiders, IRB Team and Surf Boat Crews for water safety, Steve Lee for paddling alongside the leading swimmers.

The talented Jenni Wood for her MC Skills, marvellous Mark Hills for once again being the ESO (Event Safety Officer). A special mention to Troy Pickard for showing off his digging skills so we could bury the power cords and not have a trip hazard, so in saying that if anyone needs some trenches dug at home, Troy is your man!

Massive thanks are also due to General Manager – Surf Sports, Cameron Rapley, Competition Manager – Dawn Jones and Events Manager – Julie Rapley, who again pulled off a wonderful feat of organisation with their band of helpers of our biggest and best whole of Club event.

Santa arrived in style riding in a wave via the surf boat carrying 1000 candy canes and 4kg of mixed lollies to hand out to all our excited Nippers, Good Job Santa!

Congratulations and well done to all Nippers, Youth, Senior and Masters members who finished the Ted Scott Marathon, that was a huge effort!
Main course: 5.95km running and 2.55km swim
