Mullaloo Wizards “Making Magic Happen”
The Club’s Open Male Surf Boat Crew convincingly won the 2022 Surf Boat Trophy Mugs series.
On Sunday the Club’s open male surf boat crew of Isaac Crothers, Luke Triston, Adam Sami, James Killow and Sweep Stuart Clarke convincingly won the 2022 Surf Boat Trophy Mugs series.
With an equal first, two 2nds, and a fifth-place across the four carnivals in the series, the Wizards accrued 44.5 points … 7.5 points clear of the next crew. In May 2021, the Wizards committed to doing everything necessary to produce a competitive season. So the many hours of boat and gym/cardio training, winter river rowing and instruction from professional rowing coaches, a week-long training camp in Denmark, wave sessions at Lancelin and Wedge Island, and competing in all but one WA carnival has paid off.
Although pleased with their Bronze medal in the State Short Course Championships and now winning a prized ‘mug’, they are setting themselves for a crack at the Senior State Championships and a campaign to the Aussies in April.
