Members may not be aware that the City of Joondalup has a Draft Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP) out for public consultation.
One aspect of the plan is the proposed installation of 17 groynes on the beach between Hillarys Boat Harbour and Mullaloo North Point, 11 south of the Club and 6 to the north. The groynes would stretch from the dunes to the waterline. These are subject to various conditions and relate to a long term plan.
The Community Consultation process has commenced and members of the public are encouraged to read the relevant documentation and to make a submission to the Council from an informed basis, via the Online Submission Form (link here).
