R&R Weekender

Arriving early afternoon on the Friday it was down to Scarboro on Friday evening for the second of the Sunset R&R Series for Nippers and Under 15s at the Amphitheatre.

Competitors, coaches and officials gathered on the steps of the amphitheatre for a picture as the sun was sinking to the west Teams from City, Scarboro, Sorrento and Mullaloo enjoyed the excellent conditions and the opportunity to learn from Australia’s Master of R&R.

Saturday morning saw the coaches and officials join Christine is a two-hour workshop at Scarboro’s training room, in which she outlined her coaching philosophy and methods, as well as demonstrating the training resources and aids she uses in her very successful coaching life.

Saturday afternoon gave no rest for Christine as she joined Sorrento’s 5 person teams on their home beach for some team tuition. Coaches from Scarboro, Trigg, City, Mullaloo and Fremantle joined in to learn and support.  Special mention to coach Paul Brierley from Mullaloo.

On Sunday morning City Beach was the venue for a small swimming R&R carnival. Scarboro and Sorrento provided the teams for two complete events, using only short swims.
