Below is the criteria and nomination for this season’s Annual Awards! Is there anyone you feel has gone above and beyond and worthy of your nomination – simply complete the below.

Award Criteria
Nipper Activities Volunteer of the Year
This award recognises a volunteer in any area of the Club relating to Nipper Activities, including, but not limited to:
- Club Day activities
- Carnivals
- Coaching
- Administrating
- State Competition Activities
- Active patrolling
- Officiating
Other key considerations
- Surf Life Saving Australia awards/certificates held (where applicable)
- Community awards/certificates held (where applicable)
- Outstanding contribution to Nipper Activities, in one or more areas of the Club
- Demonstrated commitment to Surf Life Saving, across the Club.
Administrator of the Year
This award recognises and rewards outstanding contribution(s) to Surf Life Saving administration.
Key considerations
- Demonstrate efficient and innovative management of administration activities in any area of the Club
- Administration excellence ensuring compliance with Club, SLSWA and SLSA requirements
- Provide administrative support to any area of the Club
IRB Person of the Year
This award recognises and rewards an IRB Driver or Crew person who has demonstrated outstanding involvement in the IRB activities in the Club, both competition and patrolling
Key considerations
- Currently proficient as an IRB Driver or Crew person.
- Contribution to Surf Life Saving Power craft (IRB) duties.
- Professional development in relation to training.
- Contribution to development and improvement of training services for the Club (eg: participation on review panels, improvements etc).
- Major achievements and positions, relevant to IRB, held at local, regional and State level.
- Future training ambitions in the areas of Club and State.
Coach of the Year
This award recognises and rewards coaches who have made a significant contribution towards the area of coaching within surf life saving with regards to both athlete/s performance and coach educational development.
Key considerations
- Should be a current accredited surf sports coach throughout the current surf season
- Must be a coach of any discipline of surf life saving competition
- Has made a significant contribution towards an athlete/s performance in SLSWA/SLSA competition and their development at an international and/or national and/or state level
- The nominated coach presents a positive image of the role of the coach and of surf life saving and demonstrates sound coaching principles and coaching plans
- It will need to be demonstrated that the nominated coach is involved with coach education
- Outline the most outstanding achievement in current season
Young Lifesaver of the Year (15-21 years)
This award recognises and rewards outstanding contribution to patrolling life saving operations
Key considerations
- Surf Life Saving Australia Awards/Certificates Held
- Community Awards/Certificates held
- Patrolling Hours from 1st May to 30th April of the current season – met or exceeded patrol commitment.
- Demonstrated commitment to public safety
- Major achievements and positions, relevant to lifesaving, held at Club, State and Australian level
- Future life saving ambitions in the areas of Club, State, Australia, and the community
- Befitting the image of an Australian Surf Life Saver
Lifesaver of the Year
This award recognises and rewards outstanding contribution to life saving operations
Key considerations
- Surf Life Saving Australia Awards/Certificates Held
- Community Awards/Certificates held
- Patrolling Hours from 1st May to 30th April of the current season – met or exceeded patrol commitment.
- Demonstrated commitment to public safety
- Major achievements and positions, relevant to lifesaving, held at Club, State and Australian level
- Future lifesaving ambitions in the areas of Club, State, Australia, and the community
- Befitting the image of an Australian Surf Life Saver
Young Achiever of the Year (13-19 years)
This award recognises and rewards outstanding achievement(s) or contribution(s) at a local or State level to Club and member development.
Key considerations
- Design and delivery of programs or activities that have contributed to the development of the club and/or its members.
- Contribution at a Club, region or State level to the recruitment and retention of members.
- Demonstrated actions and behaviours as a positive role model.
- Achievements and positions relevant to Club and member development, held at Club, regional and State level.
- Future ambitions in the areas of Club, region and State.
Club Person of the Year
The Club Person of the year award will recognise an individual who has demonstrated achievements in a range of different areas of the Club or surf lifesaving service organisation throughout the year, or who has shown significant and outstanding achievements in one particular area. The individual’s contribution demonstrably enhances the development of surf life saving and is aligned to the State – SLSWA Volunteer of the Year.
- Financial Member of the Club for the current season.
- Demonstrated support for the Club over many seasons
- Shows outstanding commitment and support for many areas within the Club.
- Shows outstanding commitment to the values of the Club and surf life saving
- Contribution towards achieving the Club’s mission.
