Message from The Club President

Hi Everyone

I hope you have had a good week.

Young members and Sunday mornings

I know as President of the Club you are supposed to know this kind of stuff, but I was genuinely taken aback by the number of young members (16 – 18 or so) who are involved as AGM’s and other roles with our Nippers and young members on a Sunday morning.

Walking up and down the beach last Sunday, group after group had our young members leading and helping Nippers in support of plenty of parents (which was also great to see).

Many thanks to all of our youth who are giving up their time on Sundays (and indeed many others at other times of the week) to provide this service to our Club. If you are a parent please take time to thank them for this commitment

It is one of many roles young members can take up, in addition to some of the more obvious activities such as surf sports and patrolling.

Membership Manager

I am pleased to announce that Mark Sizer has agreed to take on the role of Membership manager at the Club. Mark will take over from my fellow Board member Guy Edwards.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Guy for all his work in this portfolio. Before coming onto the Board, Guy was our Membership Manager for a number of years. His contribution in building and developing our membership base has been significant.

Guy’s attention to detail is profound and his stewardship of the membership portfolio has been wonderful.

Thank you Guy for all your contributions in this area. Guy will support Mark to find his feet, which will no doubt lead to a smooth handover.

Thank you Mark for taking on the role, which sits under the GM Development (Dawn Jones). It’s a hard act to follow, (no pressure !!!), no doubt you will do a great job.

Weekend ahead

We have another busy weekend ahead. Carnivals, Surf Boat naming ceremony, normal Sunday Nippers and Youth.
