I hope all is well.
Welcome back Rob Barton – a great time to celebrate and reflect …. and donate
Rob Barton safely landed in Tanzania a week or so ago, having rowed from Australia to Tanzania, breaking records along the way.
Dear Rob, this is an amazing achievement, and the club is very proud of you.
Rob carried out this amazing row to raise funds for Zero2hero. Can I please encourage members who have yet to donate to Rob’s chosen charity to consider doing so – zero2hero.
There will be a Club ‘welcome home’ next Friday 11th August in the clubrooms. This is primarily for Club members to acknowledge Rob’s achievement and welcome him home.
Just a slight dampener…
As ever, we need to comply with our licensing obligations + it’s a normal Friday night Club evening. Hence, this is primarily for Club members to welcome Rob home, so while I acknowledge the interest in Rob’s amazing efforts from outside the Club, let’s keep it to Club members and those supporting Rob directly.
While we are on the issue…
Zero2hero is a great cause and one that focuses on educating, engaging and empowering young ‘heroes’ to become mental health leaders.
Young or old, everyone needs support and help somewhere along the way. Surf clubs can play a great role in doing this. At the same time, and like all aspects of community, they can be the cause of upset and angst, that sometimes manifests itself in something more serious. So, as we go about our business at Mullaloo Surf Lifesaving Club, take time to think of those around you.

With that in mind, you can start by being kind on Friday night at the AGM (especially to me – joke). The club welcomes members to the forthcoming AGM this Friday. Look through the Club socials for details.
I am genuinely looking forward to seeing you all at this event and formally celebrating and acknowledging our season and then looking to the future.
