The new eyes in the sky watching over swimmers this summer.
All thanks to a grant from @Lotterywest, which will assist SLSWA with the purchase of drones and the training of Drone Operators at clubs across WA.
Surveillance is the cornerstone of what we do as lifesavers, and the integration of this technology provides a new perspective on traditional surveillance methods. The improved situational awareness that drones can add to localised surveillance activity complements the regional role performed by SLSWA’s Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service and the on-beach and on-water patrols currently performed by our clubs.
