Dave Wilson Kahuna

Perfect conditions, wonderful organisation and a fantastic group of participants culminated in another successful Dave Wilson Kahuna. This event honours Dave’s contribution to our Club and reflects his ethos of “fun, friendship and participation”. David was awarded Life Membership in 2011 and was actively involved in patrolling, training, assessing and competing. Club President Andy Jones recalled one of his earliest memories at the club was watching Dave, Jordan Puchar, Kay Smith and Jim Baker doing some variation of the Kahuna every Friday night.

This Saturday’s Kahuna brought competitors of all ages and abilities together to have fun, participate and practice their skills. Well done to the youth and seniors who incorporated this event into their training for next weekend’s Endurance competition (completing 15 km in total across ski/swim /run/board). Thanks to all those involved in the running and organisation of this event. Thanks to Events Manager Julie Rapley and thanks to Alison Gerrard and Dawn Jones for registration.
