Youth (u14–19)

Just like Nippers, our Youth members have Club Days – Sunday mornings 9–11am (October-March). Starting with the Club swim, Youth join up with our seniors in a variety of activities both in the water and on the sand – with the aim of participation.

Best of all, being a Youth member at Mullaloo makes you part of an energetic, fun filled social group that allows you to ‘have-a-go’ and participate in everything from human pyramids on the beach to rock climbing in the south west!

At age 13, members are able to attain their Surf Rescue Certificate. Members can sign up on one of our SRC courses, view upcoming course dates. Further lifesaving skills will be developed on completion when you are part of a patrol and you will receive your red and yellow patrol uniform!

At the age of 15, Youth members can complete their Bronze Medallion certificate.

If competition is not your thing, there are a number of opportunities to develop your life saving, leadership or coaching skills. You can assist Age Group Managers with Woodside Nippers, become a trainer, coach or lead some youth activities.

…looking for a challenge?

Why not join the Youth Committee, a new season is quickly approaching. Now is when you can make a difference! Contact our Youth Development Manager if you would like to have input to this great developing section of the club.

South West Youth Camp (u14-17)

To encourage greater fellowship among our young members we have an annual team building event. The event is usually held in the first week of the October School holidays. This camp is used to help with the transition from Juniors to Youth. The camp provides an opportunity for our various groups to mix and get to know each other. It also challenges our youth with bush walks up to 20km on the Cape to Cape walk, abseiling on 40m cliffs and caving.

Our club is committed to educating the community about Surf Life Saving, beach safety and First Aid. We have a number of programs that include First Aid training, school education and community education. Our youth can deliver and engage with the community through these programs. For more information please contact our Youth Development Manager.
