July Volunteers of the Month

For July’s Volunteer of the Month, sponsored by ECU – School of Business & Law we recognise the efforts of Laurie de Mamiel, Enda Farnham and Nick Kane.

Laurie de Mamiel – provided team management for each of the IRB carnivals and also travelled with the team to IRB Aussies at his own cost to do the same. I know he organised his work around each of these carnivals to allow him to be there each time, his work was invaluable to the team and their success.

Enda Farnham – is the silent man in the background. He has done some amazing handyman work for the club over the recent months including putting up all the shelving in the surf shop and storage areas and other odds and ends required.

Nick Kane – has been coaching Ski Training on a Tuesday morning from 5:15am to 6:30am at Hillarys Marina. Nick has not missed 1 session this winter and is always there before the rest of us and is encouraging to all that attend. It’s dark, cold (once it was only 4 degrees) and wet, but ever-reliable Nick is there with a program ready and at the end, all attendees feel as though it was all worthwhile. Nick is a great Ski coach and relates really well with the youth. Because of this, there is always a great turn out, usually 8 to 10 paddlers. Thank you Nick.
