Call for EOI in GM Positions – Support Services and Surf Sports

The Board and man­age­ment team have dis­cussed how to improve our recruit­ment and appoint­ment of Gen­er­al Man­agers and Man­agers. Some of the feed­back includ­ed that last year’s round was too close to the start of the sum­mer sea­son, was too for­mal and did not allow for Gen­er­al Man­agers to have suit­ably long tenure to prop­er­ly learn and plan their port­fo­lio.

As a result, the Board has decid­ed the fol­low­ing:

  • Gen­er­al Man­agers will be appoint­ed for a 2 year term.
  • Man­agers will be appoint­ed for a 1 year term.
  • Recruit­ment and appoint­ment of Gen­er­al Man­agers will occur in May and of Man­agers in June.
  • Mem­bers can express their inter­est in posi­tions in writ­ing then a few of the Board mem­bers will have an infor­mal dis­cus­sion with can­di­dates.

Three Gen­er­al Man­agers have been in their role for less than a year. The Board would like to thank Tony Green­field (GM Oper­a­tions), Chrissie Payne (GM Mar­ket­ing) and Julie Rap­ley (GM Devel­op­ment) for agree­ing to con­tin­ue in their role for the com­ing sea­son and they have been appoint­ed.

Of the two oth­er Gen­er­al Man­ag­er posi­tions, one is vacant (GM Sup­port Ser­vices) and the oth­er has been filled by Car­lo Tenaglia for the last two sea­sons. As such, these two posi­tions are now open for expres­sions of inter­est from mem­bers.

  • Read the gener­ic job descrip­tion for the Gen­er­al Man­agers posi­tions.
  • Speak to any of the Board mem­bers for guid­ance on expec­ta­tions and sup­port.
  • Lodge a writ­ten expres­sion of inter­est by com­plet­ing this EOI Form and send­ing it to the Pres­i­dent by 5pm, Mon­day 28 May, 2018.
