2018 Masters State Champs!

triple-kWith perfect weather, not much around the surf zone, but an awesomely charged Mullaloo Masters team, the weekends Masters State Championships at Sorrento went off!

It was a first time competition for several of our competitors and bring their game, they did! Team combinations made for some pretty competitive action both in the water and on the sand (we believe Katrina West may have had an experienced hand in that)… the triple K effect was also on point. Hats off to the many masters, whose resilience and sheer determination got them through the many events throughout the day.

After a day of racing, the wind up was a welcome treat with Dave Gillam playing some rocking’ tunes that had our masters at their feet again. The cat is certainly out of the bag after the windup — officially, the boys have bragging rights for this year of competition! Full results can be viewed here!

Thanks to the team managers (did we hear sheep herders…) Richard Orme and Sarah Gregson ably assisted by Jenny Orme, and Stuart Clarke in the surf boat section. Thanks Gary Wood and everyone who assisted in loading and unloading the trailer. Thanks to our officials Dawn Jones, John Hillen, Marni Black, Alison Gerard and Sandy Clarke. Thanks Wes Gould who was also kept on his toes handing out medals on the finish line.
