Membership

Mem­ber­ship cov­ers the period from 1 Octo­ber to 30 Sep­tem­ber in the fol­low­ing year. The surf life­sav­ing sea­son runs from the begin­ning of Octo­ber through to the end of March. There are a num­ber of mem­ber­ship cat­e­gories avail­able with the empha­sis firmly placed on fam­ily involve­ment and active par­tic­i­pa­tion. Chil­dren aged 13 years and under must join under the umbrella of a Fam­ily Mem­ber­ship. Per­sons over 13 years not cov­ered by Fam­ily Mem­ber­ship must join as a Cadet, Active or Pro­ba­tion­ary Mem­ber. These cat­e­gories require mem­bers to com­plete spe­cific surf life sav­ing awards, as a min­i­mum, and per­form patrol duties.

Parents/guardians are very wel­come, encour­aged to gain their Bronze Medal­lion award and become active mem­bers. It is a great way to get to know more peo­ple in the club. There are many advan­tages to active mem­ber­ship which include: improved fit­ness, use of gym­na­sium, use of club boards and skis, dis­count on fol­low­ing year’s mem­ber­ship (if spec­i­fied min­i­mum patrol com­mit­ments are met), and pro­vid­ing water safety for your own children.

Mul­laloo SLSC is a fan­tas­tic club which is run by vol­un­teers – for vol­un­teers. Our suc­cess for the sea­son relies on each mem­ber mak­ing their own con­tri­bu­tion. Don’t sit back! Help steer the club through another excit­ing season.

Junior Mem­ber­ship Information

With such large num­bers of juniors join­ing the club, we are forced to cap the num­ber of each age group to allow for man­age­ability and safe practice.

If you would like to join as a fam­ily and have chil­dren that you would like to take part in the nip­pers pro­gram, our age groups are cur­rently at full capac­ity and the wait­ing list is now closed until 1 April 2012. We open our wait­ing list on the 1st April each year (NOT BEFORE), you will need to for­ward the com­pleted form to us so that we can include your details onto the wait­ing list. After we have taken renewals from our exist­ing mem­bers – we will be able to take peo­ple form the wait­ing list. If you have been suc­cess­ful, you will be noti­fied by email in early Sep­tem­ber (NOT BEFORE) and you will need to attend the clubs New Mem­bers Reg­is­tra­tion Day – usu­ally held mid Sep­tem­ber each year. If you do not hear from us, it means that a space is not avail­able this sea­son. Names are NOT trans­ferred over to the fol­low­ing year and you will need to reap­ply the fol­low­ing April.

There is a $100 appli­ca­tion fee which is used as part pay­ment if your appli­ca­tion is suc­cess­ful and is fully refunded in the event you are unsuccessful.

The min­i­mum age of appli­ca­tion at Mul­laloo Surf Life Sav­ing Club is 6 years.

Patrol Rebate (*) Each of these mem­ber­ships attracts a $70.00 rebate for those who have ful­filled the min­i­mum 2010/2011 sea­son patrol require­ments of 75% of ros­tered patrol hours.

Gym Mem­ber­ship (**) Avail­able to all non-active mem­bers 15 years and over. Excludes gym use dur­ing peak times 5am-8am and 4pm-8pm.

Raf­fle

To raise addi­tional funds, the club organ­ises an annual raf­fle. The raf­fle books are avail­able when Reg­is­tra­tion starts. Mem­bers are reminded to return the com­pleted butts before the draw is con­ducted. Mem­ber sup­port is essen­tial to assure the suc­cess of this fundrais­ing initiative.
