Training Officer
The Training Officer Certficiate course is conducted by Surf Life Saving WA to enable members to assist our club in the Training and Education of our members. Contact the Director of Education for more information.
Prerequisites
To commence training for the Training Officer Certificate you must have met the follow course pre-requisites:
- Candidates must be a financial member of Mullaloo SLSC for the current season
- Minimum of 16 years of age on the date of final assessment
- Hold an SLSA award in which to train.
Your current knowledge and recognition of prior learning (RPL)
If you feel confident you already have some or all of the competencies delivered in this module, ask your Facilitator/Assessor for a copy of the RPL Information Booklet which includes a Self-Assessment Checklist for the course. You can check yourself by completing self-assessment.
Course Outline
This purpose of this course is to help you gain knowledge and skills to provide instruction and demonstration of work skills using existing learning resources, in a safe and comfortable learning environment, and to determine the success of both the training provided and personal training performance. You will also develop knowledge and skills to enable you to demonstrate competence in the nationally recognised unit of competency:

This unit forms a part of the nationally recognised TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Course Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Organise your instruction and demonstration
- Conduct instruction and demonstration
- Check training performance
- Review personal training performance and finalise documentation
Requalification
Attendance at an annual Trainer and Assessor Forum/Workshop/Conference is required to maintain currency of this award.
