Training Officer

The Train­ing Offi­cer Cert­fi­ciate course is con­ducted by Surf Life Sav­ing WA to enable mem­bers to assist our club in the Train­ing and Edu­ca­tion of our mem­bers. Con­tact the Direc­tor of Edu­ca­tion for more information.

Pre­req­ui­sites

To com­mence train­ing for the Train­ing Offi­cer Cer­tifi­cate you must have met the fol­low course pre-requisites:

  • Can­di­dates must be a finan­cial mem­ber of Mul­laloo SLSC for the cur­rent season
  • Min­i­mum of 16 years of age on the date of final assessment
  • Hold an SLSA award in which to train.

Your cur­rent knowl­edge and recog­ni­tion of prior learn­ing (RPL)

If you feel con­fi­dent you already have some or all of the com­pe­ten­cies deliv­ered in this mod­ule, ask your Facilitator/Assessor for a copy of the RPL Infor­ma­tion Book­let which includes a Self-Assessment Check­list for the course. You can check your­self by com­plet­ing self-assessment.

Course Out­line

This pur­pose of this course is to help you gain knowl­edge and skills to pro­vide instruc­tion and demon­stra­tion of work skills using exist­ing learn­ing resources, in a safe and com­fort­able learn­ing envi­ron­ment, and to deter­mine the suc­cess of both the train­ing pro­vided and per­sonal train­ing per­for­mance. You will also develop knowl­edge and skills to enable you to demon­strate com­pe­tence in the nation­ally recog­nised unit of competency:
