Gold for Mullaloo

Monday, February 28th, 2011

First Aid State Championships held on Saturday 26 March saw Mullaloo take out the gold medal for the Open Division, the team of Brad Hill and Brenton Tenaglia — a force to be reckoned with. Mullaloo placed fourth in both the under 19s and under 15s. Well done to the teams Tayla Tenaglia/Brad Hill and Josh Clarke/Macklin Brosens respectively. Thanks also to Tracey Tenaglia and Barbara Carter for the invaluable training.

Junior State Qualifiers

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Fantastic effort by our Mullaloo Juniors on Sunday 27 February. With the temperatures soaring and the heat of the sand at almost blistering point — none of that would keep the Mullaloo 140 plus competitors from performing at their best. With many making it through to states, we say bring it on! Junior State Championships will be held at Sorrento Beach on the 19–20 March 2011. Download the latest Junior States Program here.

Premier’s Community Award Win

Monday, February 7th, 2011

The Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club was acknowledged this Australia Day by the City of Joondalup by being awarded the Premier’s Active Citizenship Award for a community group.  Anne-Marie Widermanski (President of Mullaloo SLSC), noted the importance of service provided by surf lifesavers to the community.   “The community doesn’t always realize the huge resources required to keep beaches safe. It can be hard to recognize the massive effort made by club members behind the scenes to keep the club running efficiently.”

“This award is a reflection of the passion and dedication of our members in providing our community with safer beaches.”

“Our surf club has just under 2000 members but we always need more people to stand up and help out.”

Mullaloo has grown over 50 years with a focus on recognizing all demographics and offering a wide range of activities for the under 7 nippers, right through to seniors. Members are able to participate in education/training, lifesaving service and competition.

With a focus on youth development and a strong family environment, the surf club believes everyone can contribute to the community and the club.
